Halloween
halloween party
Today was Clare Bear’s Halloween party. The not so haunted Dahl House became a place of tricks and treats. I am not a party planner by any definition, but I love putting together this little Halloween party. It’s become a tradition for my kindergarteners (and Clara lucked out last year also!).
Waiting for the guests to arrive . . . .
The cute crew . . . .
Let’s get this party started!!!
These cuties put together crafts, played Pin the Hat on the Witch, and danced and munched to their hearts’ content. (I didn’t get a picture of the wild & witchy dancing and the spooktacular story time.) Luckily I had a good friend with me to make the party just as fun for the moms! I love this tradition and I already can’t wait for next year’s party!
p.s. This was my easiest party yet. The napping princess was asleep upstairs. I’ve NEVER thrown a party without one or two little hanger-ons. I practically didn’t know what to do with myself. 🙂
witches’ weekend
I have the best friends a girl could ask for. (Even if some of them are secretly witches, ha!) I’m incredibly lucky to have so many wonderful women in my life. This particular group of ladies I’ve known for 10+ years. We all met as young married couples spreading our wings after college, most of us far from family. Ten years later, we are still going strong–monthly nights out, movie dates, slumber parties (I know, right?!), and anything else crazy and fun we can think up. Especially if it involves food.
Which brings me to Witches’ Council. Four years ago, Lisa dared us all to dress up as witches and meet at our favorite restaurant. I have to admit I wasn’t overly excited about the whole dress-up part. But we all did it, and LOVED it, and a new tradition was born!
The 4th annual Witches’ Council . . . .
It wouldn’t be the same without a baby witch wizard there
Gorgeous witches . . . .
My favorite witches + favorite restaurant = heavenly! To make it even better, most of went to see Broadway’s Wicked the next day . . .
. . . followed up by a loooonoong dinner in which we talked the night away. I came home feeling as if I had been on vacation! Best. Weekend. Ever.
