halloween party

Today was Clare Bear’s Halloween party. The not so haunted Dahl House became a place of tricks and treats. I am not a party planner by any definition, but I love putting together this little Halloween party. It’s become a tradition for my kindergarteners (and Clara lucked out last year also!).

Waiting for the guests to arrive . . . .

The cute crew . . . .

Let’s get this party started!!!

These cuties put together crafts, played Pin the Hat on the Witch, and danced and munched to their hearts’ content. (I didn’t get a picture of the wild & witchy dancing and the spooktacular story time.) Luckily I had a good friend with me to make the party just as fun for the moms! I love this tradition and I already can’t wait for next year’s party!

p.s. This was my easiest party yet. The napping princess was asleep upstairs. I’ve NEVER thrown a party without one or two little hanger-ons. I practically didn’t know what to do with myself. 🙂

princess and the pea

A cherished October tradition of ours is taking our girls to a fall play at our favorite garden store. (It is an amazing 10-acre Garden of Eden overflowing with gorgeousness.) This was our fifth or sixth year taking the girls. We loved meeting up with our dear friends, the Talbots. After six years apart, we’re so happy to have them living in the area again! This next picture is a little disturbing, but the actor is HILARIOUS. The plays wouldn’t be the same without him.  Hermione Anna found Hedwig

pumpkin bread: reality check

When you make pumpkin muffins again with two three little helpers (kindergartener came home mid-way) . . . you just might set a new PR. It took me a mere three hours to whip these babies up!

But it’s the journey, not the destination, that’s important . . . right???

first day of school

School started right after Labor Day. I wasn’t ready to give my girls back this year. However. Yummy food softens the blow . . . . My 3rd, K, and 2nd gradersHands. Heartmelter. The twins triplets Anna with her good buddy, Maddie. Third year together, hooray! This little girl is sweetness bottled up. #twopeasinapodAs we walked out the door, Emmy had exclaimed, “Where MY backpack?”#thinksshesnine Another year with our favorite kindergarten teacherNow . . . what do I do with this one? 😉 #babyprincessandsheknowsit

hello world!

I’m back! Back in the blogging world, that is. I left off consistently blogging three years ago. Other things crept in and kept me busy. Running a half marathon. Having another baby. Sleeping. Baking. Reading. Traveling. LIFE.

But lately? Lately I’ve felt the pull of the journaling world. I miss expressing myself. I miss having a home for my photographs of this lovely, gorgeous, amazing life. I want my girls to sit down with me someday and laugh and cry at our family blog. Each day that passes by, I forget. But my blog will be the one place where I won’t forget. My memories will live.

My dear old blog is here: www.threebythesea.blogspot.com. Now that my life is graced by FOUR little girls, I needed a new space for our family journal. I can’t wait to fill these new “pages” with memories.
